Welcome to Westhouse Nursery

Follow the bright blue and yellow signs to Westhouse Nursery, a beautiful, clean garden centre and nursery stocked with hundreds of lovingly homegrown plants. The heated indoor nursery boasts over 400 varieties of fuchsias, as well as bedding plants, alpines, hanging baskets and house plants. Wander outside and there’s a huge outdoor selection of perennials, magnolias and fruit trees.

Westhouse Nursery, set in lush green countryside, in the beautiful North Yorkshire Dales, was established last year and is run by one man, Yorkshire-man, Mr Chris Cook. Chris is a passionate gardener and incredibly enthusiastic about nature, plants, fuchsias and his nursery. His business has been built on word of mouth and his reputation is impeccable. Customers are loyal to Chris – he’s a member of the renowned fuchsia society and has built up Westhouse Nursery single-handedly since he bought the site 2 years ago.

Chris is well known for his fantastic fuchsias, but there’s so much more to Westhouse Nursery. Chris regularly gives talks to WI groups and helps all his customers with advice and “top tips”. All the plants are labelled and include colour photographs and helpful hints on how to look after them properly at home. Chris willingly gives advice on how to get the most from your garden and is happy to talk to you over the telephone, once you get home. It’s all part of the personal service that Westhouse Nursery is known for.

From shrubs and conifers to alpines and heathers, bedding plants and orchids to Westhouse Nursery perennials and fruit trees, there’s something for everyone: from the total beginner to the professional gardener.

Look for the blue and yellow signs on the A65 between Skipton and Kirkby Lonsdale. With free and ample parking, it’s the perfect way to browse some blooms and pick up some plants.
